A wire guide holder (2700) having a wire guide deflector. The wire guide holderis provided with a securing portion and a deflecting portion. The securing portion(110,112,114) is provided with protrusions and/or grooves (116,118,120) forsecuring a distal portion of a wire guide against longitudinal movement. Thedeflecting portion is configured to direct the proximal end of a wire guide (134)into an unobtrusive position. A frictional element may be provided to preventthe wire guide from inadvertently sliding or falling out of the deflecting portion.The wire guide holder may be attached to a medical scope or a bite block. The wireguide holder may also be provided with a seal (108).
