One aspect of the invention relates to an oil-in water sunscreen composition comprising at least one sunscreen agent, at least one solvent, at least one emulsifier, at least one film former and at least one preservative, wherein said emulsifier is present in an amount in the range of 1.00-3.00 %(w/w), and wherein said film former is present in an amount in the range of 1.50-3.50 %(w/w), and wherein said preservative is present in an amount in the range of 0.05-2.50 %(w/w). A second aspect of the present invention relates to the use of at least one emulsifier for increasing the skin feel and improving the texture/emulsion structure of a sunscreen composition of the invention. A third aspect of the present invention relates to the use of at least one film former for increasing the durability and/or water resistance of a sunscreen composition of the invention. A forth aspect of the present invention relates to the use of at least one preservative for increasing the shelf-life of a sunscreen composition of theinvention. A fifth aspect of the invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a sunscreen composition of the invention.
