A humidifier for a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is disclosed. The CPAP has a breathing tube. The humidifier has a main body, a liquid providing device, a liquid gathering device, a water absorber and an airflow generator. The main body connects the breathing tube and has a passage connecting with the breathing tube. The liquid providing device is fixed in the main body and has a liquid outlet connecting with the passage. The liquid gathering device is fixed in the main body and disposed below the liquid providing device. The liquid gathering device has a liquid inlet connecting with the passage. The water absorber is made of filter materials and positioned between the liquid outlet and the liquid inlet. The airflow generator is disposed corresponding to the water absorber.
