The invention relates to a connection system for an inner coffinand an outer coffin, said inner coffin comprising a bottom andside walls extending from the bottom, wherein said outer coffincomprises a load bearing frame construction near the bottom of theinner coffin. The load bearing frame construction comprisesmovable support pins embodied for insertion in openings that areprovided in an inner coffin's wall near the bottom thereof, forcarrying the inner coffin.A preferred embodiment relates to a method for coupling an innercoffin and an outer coffin, wherein an inner coffin with openingsin sides thereof is provided, an outer coffin being positioned overthe inner coffin, said outer coffin comprising a frame constructionwith support pins that can be displaced between two positions, saidsupport pins being provided at a first position that is relativelyaway from the inner coffin. The support pins of the outer coffin arealigned with the openings of the inner coffin, and the support pinsare displaced from the first position into a second position, whereinthe support pins are received at least partly inside the openingsof the inner coffin, for carrying the inner coffin by the outercoffin.
