PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a joint structure of an object without previous knowledge relating to the object.

SOLUTION: A method comprises a step of acquiring a 3-dimensional shape of the object from images acquired from a plurality of cameras using a volume intersection method, a step for defining an average geodesic distance &mu on a surface of the 3-dimensional shape of the object acquired using a Reeb Graph, and acquiring a virtual joint model of the object by disposing a virtual joint which becomes a candidate of a joint based on each contour line after acquiring the contour line of the value &mu, a step of estimating the virtual joint whose movement is much as a real joint by comparing corresponding virtual joints among a plurality of virtual joint models acquired based on different postures of the object, and a step of acquiring the joint model of the object by eliminating joints except for the virtual joint estimated as the real joint.
