PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iterative reconstruction algorithm that includes automatic and adaptive determination of parameter values or coefficients.SOLUTION: A CT imaging system optimizes image generation by adaptively changing parameters in an iterative reconstruction algorithm on the basis of specific information such as statistical information. Coefficients for parameters include at least a first coefficient for a given data fidelity process and a second coefficient for a given normalization process in the iterative reconstruction algorithm. The iterative reconstruction algorithm includes Ordered-subset Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (OSSART) and Simultaneous Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (SART).
