A gaze direction tracking system for an ophthalmic lens comprising anelectronicsystem is described herein. The gaze direction tracking system is part of anelectronicsystem incorporated into the ophthalmic lens. The electronic system includesone ormore batteries or other power sources, power management circuitry, one or moresensors, clock generation circuitry, control algorithms and circuitry, andlens drivercircuitry. The gaze direction tracking system is utilized to determine pupilposition anduse this information to control various aspects of the ophthalmic lens.
