A ligation and specimen retrieval device is described for endoscopic use thatincludes a pouch defining a receptacle and having an open end and a closedend, a firstsuture member defining a first loop, a second suture member defining a secondloop and aclosure member positioned about the open end of the pouch. The device istransitionablefrom a non-deployed state in which the pouch and the first and second loopsare positionedwithin a distal end of an outer shaft of the device to a deployed state inwhich the pouch andthe first and second loops are positioned externally of the outer shaft of thedevice.
