A device for use in assessing the strength of at least one flexor muscle of a subject’s knee, the device comprising: a) a support; b) two locking elements, each fixing element fixing the corresponding lower leg of the subject in a position that, when used, essentially fixed relative to the support; and c) at least one sensor that, when used, measures a force indicative of the strength of at least one knee flexor muscle of at least one leg of a subject when the subject performs an eccentric contraction of at least one knee flexor muscle. 2. A device according to claim 1, wherein at least one sensor is connected to at least one of the two locking elements, and in which the sensor measures the force exerted on the lower leg of the subject. The device according to claim 1, wherein the at least one sensor includes two sensors, each sensor being connected to a corresponding locking element to thereby measure a force indicating the strength of at least one knee flexor muscle on each leg of the subject. four. The device according to claim 3, in which, when used, the sensors measure the force, indicating the strength of at least one knee flexor muscle on each leg of the subject, simultaneously.
