The medical input device includes: a main body unit that is a housing； a track ball housed in the main body unit and provided rotatably； an opening forming member configured to form at least an opening having a diameter smaller than that of the track ball, the track ball partially protruding through the opening； and a moving member having an inclined surface on which the track ball is configured to ride, the moving member being movable in a direction of approaching the track ball or in a direction of receding from the track ball.
