PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support system for selecting a hand protector for sport, which allows selection of a proper hand protector for sport, which fits a shape of a hand of a person who selects the protector.SOLUTION: A selection support system 100 comprises: a three-dimensional shape measurement device 1 for measuring a three-dimensional shape of a hand of a subject； and a calculation device 2 for, based on the measured three-dimensional shape of the hand, calculating at least a hand girth, then based on the calculated hand girth, selecting a kind of a hand protector for sport which is recommended to the subject. The calculation device executes a procedure for calculating a horizontal direction dimension and a thickness direction dimension of the hand along a portion where a hand girth of the subject is measured, then calculating a circumference length of an approximate curve which approximates a cross section shape of the hand along the portion where the hand girth of the subject is measured and which is expressed using an approximate expression using the respective dimension, as the hand girth； and a procedure for selecting a kind of the hand protector for sport related to the calculated hand girth, as a kind of the hand protector which is recommended to the subject, out of the kinds of hand protectors for sport which are stored in advance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】選択者の手の形状に合った適切なスポーツ用手保護具を選択可能にするスポーツ用手保護具選択支援システム等を提供する。【解決手段】選択支援システム１００は、被験者の手の３次元形状を測定する３次元形状測定装置１と、測定した手の３次元形状に基づき、少なくとも手囲を演算し、該演算した手囲に基づき、被験者に対して推奨するスポーツ用手保護具の種類を選択する演算装置２とを備える。演算装置は、測定した被験者の手の３次元形状に基づき、被験者の手囲測定箇所に沿った手の水平方向寸法及び厚み方向寸法を算出し、各寸法を用いた近似式で表され、被験者の手囲測定箇所に沿った手の断面形状に近似する近似曲線の周囲長を手囲として演算する手順と、予め記憶されたスポーツ用手保護具の種類のうち、演算した手囲に関連するスポーツ用手保護具の種類を被験者に対して推奨する種類として選択する手順と、を実行する。【選択図】図１
