PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an ultrasonic image wherein azimuth resolution in an interested area always becomes high.SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes: an image generation part 15a, a detection part 15b, a determination part 15c, and a control part 18. The image generation part 15a generates an ultrasonic image of each of a plurality of setting sound velocities from each of reflected wave data of an ultrasonic wave added by use of each reception delay time calculated from the plurality of setting sound velocities. The detection part 15b divides each ultrasonic image of each of the plurality of setting sound velocities into a plurality of sections, and detects the setting sound velocity wherein a luminance value or a contrast value becomes optimal in the same section, in each of the plurality of sections. The determination part 15c determines the setting sound velocity becoming optimal so as to draw the interested area based on the setting sound velocity of each of the plurality of sections detected to be optimum.
