PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide analgesics with lessened or eliminated adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, skin rash and sedation.SOLUTION: Provided is a composition comprising an effective amount of: (a) an opioid analgesic, (b) a stimulant and (c) an antiemetic, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or vehicle. More specifically, the composition comprises (a) oxycodone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, (b) promethazine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and (c) modafinil or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or vehicle.
