The diffusion tensor is calculated from the nuclear magnetic signals (402). Fiber bundles passing by a plurality of prescribed starting points are extracted as groups of coordinate points for the respective fiber bundles based on the diffusion tensor calculated by a calculating part in the target range for receiving the nuclear magnetic signals of the subject (406). At least one observation area is set for the target range for receiving the nuclear magnetic signals (408).
