The balloon 12 in a deflated state has a plurality of wing portions 40 in a circumferential direction, and a circumferential surface portion 41 along a circumferential direction of the catheter shaft 11, the wing portions 40 being folded along the circumferential direction of the balloon 12. That surface of the circumferential surface portion 41 which faces the folded wing portion 40 has a region in which tip portions of the elongate bodies 33 are not in contact with the surface of the balloon 12 or with other elongate bodies 33. That surface of the folded wing portion 40 which faces an outer circumferential side has a region in which the tip portions of the elongate bodies 33 are in contact with the surface of the balloon 12 or with other elongate bodies 33.
