The present disclosure describes systems, devices, and methods related to dialysis system embodiments, including home dialysis systems. The dialysis system includes a conductivity sensor or detection system that measures the conductivity of the fluid associated with the dialysis system. For example, the conductivity sensor of a dialysis system can measure the conductivity of the dialysate to identify the composition of the dialysate and ascertain the ratio of dialysate. The conductivity sensor can also measure the purity of the water to ascertain the proportion of water in the dialysis system.
