B - GROUP B STREPTOCOCCUS POLYSACCHARIDE-PROTEIN CONJUGATES METHODS FOR PRODUCING CONJUGATES IMMUNOGENIC COMPOSITIONS COMPRISING CONJUGATES AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to immunogenic polysaccharide-protein conjugates comprising capsular polysaccharides (CP) and carrier proteins from Streptococcus agalactiae, commonly referred to as Group B Streptococcus (GBS). Wherein CP is selected from the group consisting of serotypes Ia, Ib, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX, and CP has a sialic acid level of greater than about 60%. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing a conjugate and an immunogenic composition comprising the conjugate. The present invention also relates to immunogenic compositions comprising polysaccharide-protein conjugates, wherein the conjugates comprise CP from GBS serotype IV and at least one additional blood-type. The invention further relates to a method of using the compositions disclosed herein to induce an immune response to GBS in a subject and / or to reduce or prevent invasive GBS disease in a subject.
