The die cutter (1) has a stationary shaft (5) connected with a tool holder, and a sliding shaft (6) longitudinally supported and adjusted on the stationary shaft. A motor drive is provided in a handle, for shifting the sliding shaft from a proximal rest position into a distal operating position at a given feeding force. The sliding shaft carries a stop unit that is attached to an elastic spring unit during the shifting of the sliding shaft. The spring unit is supported on the sliding shaft, and counteracts a feeding force of the motor drive, during shifting of the sliding shaft.
