PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root crop harvester that eliminates the need for excluding work of crops not suitable for harvesting or sale such as the crop of an abnormal shape, crop of abnormal coloring matter, crop with remarkable scratches and rotten crop, during harvesting work or during sorting work in a subsequent process, and thereby can improve work efficiency and save labor.SOLUTION: A root crop harvester includes: a pull-out conveyor (24) for pulling out root crops from fields alignment units (54L, 54R) for taking over the root crops from the pull-out conveyor (24), and aligning the shoulders position of the root crops a stem and leaf cutting device (61) for cutting stems and leaves of the root crops with the shoulder aligned an imaging device (110) positioned in the lower part of the alignment units (54L, 54R) and generating image data of the root crops and a control unit (120) for determining whether or not the root crops are suitable for harvesting and sale on the basis of the image data of the root crops, and controlling the stem and leaf cutting device (61) so as not to be operated when determined to be NO.
