PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining a stall with an easy management work and minimizing bedding replenishment.SOLUTION: The depth of a stall in a compost barn type cowhouse is made 400 mm or more, useful microorganism material is scattered to the surface of the stall, the surface layer 9a of 100-150 mm depth is crushed with a crushing means, the useful microorganism material is scattered every 20-60 days, the crushing work with the crushing means is done twice a day, and the crushing means comprises a plurality of claw bodies having a cutting part at the tip of an elastic part and a basket-like roller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
