PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound (rexinoid) binding to a retinoid X receptor (RXR) which is one of an intranuclear receptor, and having agonism or antagonism thereof, more precisely, the new rexinoid compound having a structure different from that of a conventional rexinoid compound.SOLUTION: The new rexinoid compound in a heterocyclic compound type is obtained by closing the ring at the site of an aromatic carboxylic acid. The compound having the RXR agonism in the compounds has a proper transcription-activating ability, and does not extremely activate the activity of the RXR to enable a proper application of the RXR to be expected.
