PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a threshing cylinder having good maintainability and capable of securing a large process space, and to provide a general-purpose combine harvester therewith.SOLUTION: The threshing cylinder 11 has a threshing-cylinder frame formed by a first and a second frame members 34 provided oppositely to each other in axially different positions and by a plurality of bar members 37 extended axially between the first and second frame members 34 and disposed at predetermined circumferential intervals. A cover element 39 comprising a plate for covering an opening between the bar members 37 is mounted on the threshing-cylinder frame.
