The present invention relates to a stiffening layer (4) for facilitating application of a plastic film (2) to skin, said plastic film being a component in a wound dressing (1) or other medical device and having said stiffening layer (4) removably attached to one side thereof, at least a part of the other side of said film being provided with a layer of self- adhering adhesive (3). The stiffening layer (4) is made of a stretchable material having a thickness of between 0.5 - 10 mm. According to the invention the stiffening layer covers the whole area of the film and is divided into two or more portions by cutting line or lines.La présente invention porte sur une couche de renforcement (4) pour faciliter lapplication dun film plastique (2) à la peau, ledit film plastique étant un composant dans un pansement (1) ou autre dispositif médical et ayant ladite couche de renforcement (4) attachée de façon amovible à un côté de celui-ci, au moins une partie de lautre côté dudit film comportant une couche dadhésif auto-adhérent (3). La couche de renforcement (4) est constituée dun matériau étirable ayant une épaisseur entre 0,5 et 10 mm. Selon linvention, la couche de renforcement recouvre la zone entière du film et est divisée en deux parties ou plus par la découpe dune ligne ou de lignes.
