A super elastic alloy comprising a Au-Cu-Al alloy and Fe or Co added thereto, wherein the super elastic alloy includes Cu of 12.5 mass% or more and 16.5 mass% or less, Al of 3.0 mass% or more and 5.5 mass% or less, Fe or Co of 0.01 mass% or more and 2.0 mass% or less, and the balance being Au and further a difference in content between Al and Cu (Cu minus Al) is 12 mass% or less. The super elastic alloy is an alloy material, which has such advantages as having a super elastic property notwithstanding Ni-free, and additionally having good X-ray imaging ability, workability and strength property, and hence suitable for the field of medicine.本發明之目的在於提供一種超彈性合金，係於Au-Cu-Al合金中添加Fe或Co所形成之超彈性合金，其特徵為由下述成分所構成：12.5質量%以上、16.5質量%以下之Cu；3.0質量%以上、5.5質量%以下之Al；0.01質量%以上、2.0質量%以下之Fe或Co；剩餘部份為Au；更進一步，Al含量與Cu含量之差值(Cu-Al)為12質量%以下。本發明之超彈性合金不含Ni，且具有超彈性特性，更進一步，X射線成像性、加工性、強度特性良好。本發明之超彈性合金亦係適用於醫療領域之合金材料。
