Provided is a sunscreen cosmetic, which is capable of effective protection from not only UVB but also UVA, feels fresh and cool when used, and yet has excellent stability and can form a highly ultraviolet ray-protective film when applied. An oil-in-water sunscreen cosmetic characterized in comprising (a) an aqueous dispersion of an oil-soluble ultraviolet absorber, (b) one or more of crosslinking polyether-modified silicones or crosslinking alkyl polyether-modified silicones, (c) a low viscosity silicone oil, and (d) water. It is preferable that the aqueous dispersion of the oil-soluble ultraviolet absorber is an aqueous dispersion of composite particles of bisethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine and an organic polymer. Additionally blending methylene bis-benzotriazolyl tetramethylbutylphenol is desirable.本發明提供一種不僅可對UVB亦可對UVA進行有效防禦,且具有有水潤清涼感之使用性,並且穩定性亦優異,於塗佈時可形成紫外線防禦效果較高之皮膜的防曬化妝料。本發明之水中油型防曬化妝料之特徵在於含有:(a)油溶性紫外線吸收劑之水分散體,(b)交聯型聚醚改性聚矽氧及交聯型烷基-聚醚改性聚矽氧之1種或2種以上,(c)低黏度聚矽氧油,及(d)水。上述油溶性紫外線吸收劑之水分散體較佳為雙乙基己氧基苯酚甲氧基苯基三與有機聚合物之複合體粒子之水分散體。又,較佳為進而調配亞甲基雙苯并三唑基四甲基丁基苯酚。
