PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning method for an optical scanning apparatus capable of capturing high-quality images by making the position of irradiation with light go through the center part of a spiral in a backward run when running spiral scanning of light forward and backward to capture images.SOLUTION: The scanning method for the optical scanning apparatus repeats alternately a first displacement in which the position of irradiation with the light projected from an emission end of a swing part of a swingably supported optical fiber is displaced from the center of a spiral first path to the circumference thereof and a second displacement in which the position of irradiation with light is displaced from the circumference of a spiral second path to the center thereof.
