The endoscope includes a first linear member insertable into the insertion section from the member inserting portion and removable from the insertion section through the member inserting portion, and has a distal end connectable to the drive force transmitting section while being inserted into the insertion section. The first linear member is configured to transmit the rotational drive force to the drive force transmitting section when rotated while being connected to the drive force transmitting section.
