A roclosable wound dressing system (10), with a base member (8) having a circumference and lower and upper sides, the lower side carrying an adhesive (14) that adheres to the skin (32), the upper side defining a first part of a two-part mechanical fastener system, the base portion defining an open area (34) within the circumference. Also included is a covering portion or top member (9) having a lower side that defines the second part of the two-part mechanical fastener system, the covering portion (9) overlying at least part of and engaging with the upper side of the base member (8), the covering portion (9) fully covering the open area (34) of the base member (8), to cover a wound (30) located in the open area (34).
