PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide silicone gel-based compositions for wound healing and scar reduction.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a topically-applied silicone fluid that dries to a thin film on the skin. The compositions of the present invention contain a cyclic siloxane, a silicone occlusive fluid, a silicone occlusive gel, and a silicone resin powder. The compositions are useful for wound healing. The compositions reduce the formation of overgrown scars (hypertrophic scars and keloids) after surgical incisions or accidental wounds, and reduce the size and improve the appearance of established overgrown scars.
