PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter preventing irregularities from being formed on an outer peripheral surface or an inner peripheral surface and capable of bending largely.SOLUTION: A catheter 1 includes an inner layer 20, a coil body 30 for covering the inner layer 20, and an outer layer 50 for covering the coil body 30, where the coil body 30 is constituted by using a plurality of wire strands (fine wires 41 and thick wires 42). The thick wire of the coil body 30 is polished into a substantially semicircular cross section and, at a part formed by polishing the thick wire 42, an inside diameter ID and an outside diameter OD of the coil body 30 are defined to be constant. This configuration can prevent irregularities from being formed on the outer peripheral surface or the inner peripheral surface of the catheter 1 and, when the catheter 1 is bent, the fine wire 41 moves along an arc part of the cross section of the thick wire 42 so as to be able to bend largely.COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】外周面または内周面に凹凸が生ずることを防止するとともに、大きく屈曲することが可能なカテーテルを提供する。【解決手段】内層20と、内層20を覆うコイル体30と、コイル体30を覆う外層50とを有するカテーテル1において、複数の素線(細線41および太線42)を用いてコイル体30を構成する。そして、コイル体30の太線を研磨することによって断面が略半円形状とし、太線42を研磨した部分において、コイル体30の内径IDおよび外径ODを一定とする。カテーテル1の外周面または内周面に凹凸が生ずることを防止することができるとともに、カテーテル1が曲がるときに、太線42の断面の円弧部分に沿って細線41が移動することで大きく屈曲することが可能となる。【選択図】図2
