PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a boundary position of measurement data so as to be a position that does not overlap with a shape contour of a tissue in the object to be examined when merging measurement data adjacent to each other in an ultrasonic sub scanning direction.SOLUTION: A device for acquiring information on an object to be examined includes: a probe in which receiving elements that receive an acoustic wave transmitted from the object to be examined and output an electric signal are arranged at least in a first direction a signal processing part for acquiring characteristic information inside the object to be examined using the electric signal a movement control part for causing the probe to perform the movement in the second direction performed while receiving the acoustic wave and the movement in the first direction, the second direction being a direction that intersects with the first direction and a determination part for acquiring information related to an attention region inside the object to be examined and determining the position of a contour of the attention region.
