The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for enhancing an anti-cancer effect comprising a PPAR-beta (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-beta) antagonist. In the present invention, it was confirmed that the increase of the nuclear receptor PPAR-beta in the sorafenib resistant hepatocellular carcinoma cells caused reprogramming of glucose and glutamine metabolism by regulating proteins involved in cancer metabolism, The inhibition of PPAR- has been shown to increase the reactivity to sorapenib and ultimately to overcome tolerance to sorafenib, which may be useful for the effective treatment of liver cancer.본 발명은 PPAR-β (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-β) 길항제를 포함하는 항암 효과 증진용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에서는, 소라페닙 내성 간암 세포주에서 핵수용체 PPAR-β의 증가가 암대사에 관련되는 단백질을 조절함으로써 포도당과 글루타민 대사의 변화 (reprogramming)를 일으키고 이를 통해 약제 내성이 발생함을 규명하였으며, 상기 PPAR-β의 억제를 통해 소라페닙에 대한 반응성이 증가되고, 궁극적으로 소라페닙에 대한 내성이 극복됨을 확인하였는바, 간암의 효과적인 치료에 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것이다.
