An acetabular shell (10) for use in hip arthroplasty. The shell includes a first wall (12) having an outer surface (16), an inner surface (18), and a rim (20). The shell further includes a second wall (14) extending from the outer surface of the first wall. The second wall has an outer surface (22), an inner surface (24), and a rim (26). The rim of the second wall is spaced outwardly from the rim of the first wall.
