PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanning endoscope system that is downsized by storing an optical coupler in a housing of a processor without sacrificing assemblability, and to provide the processor.SOLUTION: A processor 20 comprises: a housing 201 that comprises an optical connector 34 for optically connecting the processor 20 and an optical scanning endoscope 10 a light source 235 that emits illumination light an optical receiver 236 that receives observation light an optical coupler that is optically connected to a first optical fiber 222c, guides the illumination light from the light source 235 to the first optical fiber 222c and guides the observation light guided by the first optical fiber 222c to the optical receiver 236 a control circuit that controls an optical scanner and generates an endoscope image on the basis of the observation light received by the optical receiver 236 and a power source 234 that supplies power. The inside of the housing 201 is divided into at least an upper stage and a lower stage.
