PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that controls paddy weeds in a labor-saving manner while avoiding chemical injury on paddy rice.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method of controlling weeds in which: in a paddy field after midseason drainage, a herbicidal active ingredient including a bleaching herbicidal compound and/or an acetolactate synthase inhibiting herbicidal compound such as penoxsulam is applied on a paddy sluice.
