A cosmetic composition for imparting a superhydrophobic film on an integument, characterized in that it comprises: (a) one or more hydrophobic film formers, and (b) a combination of hydrophobic pigments comprising: (i) one or more iron oxide pigments hydrophobically modified; and (ii) a carbon black powder; wherein the weight ratio of said one or more hydrophobically modified iron oxide pigments to said carbon black powder is between 1:10 and 10: 1, and where the one or more hydrophobically modified iron oxide pigments are selected from the group consisting of iron oxide pigments treated with alkylsilane, and iron oxide pigments treated with perfluoroalkylsilane and mixtures thereof; wherein the weight ratio of said one or more hydrophobic film formers to said hydrophobic pigment combination is 1:10 to 5: 1; and where the percentage by weight of aggregate of all non-volatile water soluble or water dispersible organic constituents in said composition is less than 15%, based on the full weight of the composition; wherein said composition is adjusted to provide a film on a surface that, after evaporation of any of the volatile constituents present, has a contact angle with water greater than about 140 °. 2.
