PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To casually acquire a cross-sectional image of a subject.SOLUTION: A sensor information acquisition unit 153 acquires information indicating a position and an orientation of a probe 111 that generates an ultrasonic wave and receives a reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave. A cross-sectional image generation unit 155 generates the cross-sectional image indicating at least part of a cross-sectional surface of the subject by arranging and synthesizing a plurality of ultrasonic images, which are based on the reflected wave received by the probe 111 at a plurality of positions around the subject, based on the position and the orientation of the probe 111 when the probe generates the ultrasonic wave and receives the reflected wave.
