A cryosurgical instrument including: a shaft having a closed distal end defining an expansion chamber and an open proximal end adapted and configured to receive an inflow of cryogen and to exhaust a flow of expanded cryogen and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes: a plurality of cryogen delivery tubes that spiral around a longitudinal axis thereof and a diffuser having a plurality of branches, each of the branches supplying received cryogen to a respective one of the delivery tubes. The cryogen delivery tubes, where they spiral, are spaced from each other and in fluid tight contact with the inner surface of the shaft so as to form spiraling cryogen exhaust pathways that extend along a portion of a length of the cryosurgical instrument from the distal end of the shaft.La présente invention concerne un instrument cryochirurgical comprenant : une tige ayant une extrémité distale fermée définissant une chambre dexpansion et une extrémité proximale ouverte adaptée et configurée pour recevoir un afflux de cryogène et pour décharger un flux de cryogène expansé et un échangeur de chaleur. Léchangeur de chaleur comprend : une pluralité de tubes dadministration de cryogène qui sont spiralés autour dun axe longitudinal de celui-ci et un diffuseur ayant une pluralité de branches, chacune des branches alimentant un cryogène reçu vers lun respectif des tubes de distribution. Les tubes de distribution de cryogène, lorsquils sont spiralés, sont espacés les uns des autres et en contact hermétique étroit avec la surface interne de la tige de manière à former des voies déchappement de cryogène spiralées qui sétendent le long dune partie de linstrument cryochirurgical depuis lextrémité distale de la tige.
