The present invention is provided to provide a method to measure a heart rate by analyzing a facial image in a non-contact way. The method for measuring a heart rate with an electronic device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: the electronic device&prime；s acquiring a facial image of a subject； determining a subject area within the acquired facial image； analyzing a color information within the determined subject area； and determining a heart rate of the subject on the basis of the analyzed color information. The step of analyzing the color information analyzes on the basis of a calculation of a difference between a first color substance and a second color substance within the subject area.본 발명의 일 실시예에 따라 전자 기기에서 심박수를 측정하는 방법에 있어서, 상기 전자 기기가 피험자의 얼굴 이미지를 획득하는 단계； 상기 획득된 얼굴 이미지 내에서 대상 영역을 결정하는 단계； 상기 결정된 대상 영역 내의 색상 정보를 분석하는 단계； 및 상기 분석된 색상 정보에 기초하여, 상기 피험자의 심박수를 결정하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 색상 정보를 분석하는 단계는, 상기 대상 영역 내의 제1 색상 성분 및 제2 색상 성분의 차분 연산에 기초하여 분석하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
