The present invention relates to a device comprising an absorbent article and an exhaust device for a humid and warm atmosphere that extends to an area in contact with the patient of an absorbent article (9) such as a diaper, the exhaust device being highly humid on the patient's body. A flexible container (1, 1a) is provided in a warm atmosphere area, provided with openings (4) in its walls (2, 5) and with ventilation by a pump. The invention also relates to an operating method for improving the atmosphere in the absorbent article (9) by sucking air out of the absorbent article (9) using an exhaust device.
