Disclosed is a compound of formula (IV) comprising an N-hydroxy-2-(phenylalkylamino)pyrimidine-5-carboxamide optionally substituted on the phenyl group by RA, on the amine by R2 and on the carbon alpha to the amine by Rx and/or Ry. RA, R2, Rx and Ry are as defined in the description. The compounds are suitable for treating diseases mediated by HDAC3 such as rheumatoid arthritis and cancers.
