A medicament injection device comprising: a main body configured to receive a medicament cartridge sealed with a penetrable barrier, a needle holder holding a needle, a needle sleeve arranged around at least a portion of the needle holder and needle, and arranged to be axially movable with respect to the main body and a retainer coupled to the needle holder and to the needle sleeve and axially movable with respect to the main body along the main axis of the device wherein the retainer is coupled to the needle holder so that, upon displacement of the needle sleeve and the retainer by a predefined distance towards a proximal end of the main body, the needle holder and needle are displaced axially towards the proximal end of the main body and decouple from the retainer and wherein the needle sleeve is configured to disengage from the needle holder upon axial displacement of the needle sleeve in the proximal direction beyond the predefined distance.La présente invention concerne un dispositif dinjection de médicament comprenant : un corps principal conçu pour recevoir une cartouche de médicament scellée avec une barrière pénétrable, un porte-aiguille supportant une aiguille, un manchon daiguille disposé autour dau moins une partie du porte-aiguille et de laiguille, et disposé de façon à être mobile axialement par rapport au corps principal et un élément de retenue accouplé au porte-aiguille et au manchon daiguille et mobile axialement par rapport au corps principal le long de laxe principal du dispositif ledit élément de retenue étant accouplé au porte-aiguille de sorte que, lors du déplacement du manchon daiguille et de lélément de retenue par une distance prédéfinie vers une extrémité proximale du corps principal, le porte-aiguille et laiguille sont déplacés axialement vers lextrémité proximale du corps principal et désaccouplés de lélément de retenue et ledit manchon daiguille étant conçu pour se désaccoupler du porte-aiguille lors dun déplacement axial du manchon
