The present inventions relate to medicine and specifically to traumatology and orthopedics, and to methods for preventing and/or treating joint injury, including joint replacement. The proposed inventions allow for significantly extending the ability of a human or animal to walk independently; additionally, in certain cases, joint replacement can be avoided by preventing and/or treating joint injury using a body's internal reserves, and also by means of utilizing the unique capabilities of components of bone marrow, specifically stem cells and bone fat, with the help of the specified inventions. The proposed methods for preventing and/or treating joint injury make use of various invasively-installed devices, including for instance endoprostheses, implants and various cannulated devices, wherein the implant or invasively-installed device is made of wear-resistant and biocompatible or biodegradable and biocompatible materials which, if necessary, are impregnated with various agents including medicinal agents, are covered, if necessary, with coatings which are selected depending on required characteristics, including coatings which are thromboresistant and/or antiproliferative and/or lipophobic, and/or having other necessary characteristics and/or a combination of necessary characteristics; the specified devices can be used as a single unit, as units able to be separated, or as units able to be replaced during use, invasively and/or by means of arthroscopic techniques, in order to support and/or restore joint functions. The proposed methods have undergone successful testing on animals, including dogs. The proposed inventions have also undergone clinical trials with positive results. The proposed methods are ready to be used and will enjoy widespread clinical use.
