The clamping device serves the purpose of firmly clamping a longitudinalfixing element(2), in particular a Kirschner wire.It comprises a screw (3) with an at least partly truncated cone shape havingan overallheight H with a taper axis (4) and a taper-shaped jacket surface (5) with athread (6), apassing-through bore (7) extending coaxially with the taper axis (4) toaccommodate thelongitudinal fixing element (2), a rear end (8) with means (9) to screw in thescrew (3)and a front end (1). The front end (1) of the screw (3) is provided with atleast onelongitudinal slot (10) having a length L, the slot radially extending up tothe passing-throughbore (7), so that the screw (3) can be compressed at least partly in theradialdirection.
