The present invention describes the method for the purification and concentration of Catechins from Camellia sinensis. This method comprises feeding the leaves of Camellia sinensis to hot water extraction for a sufficient period of time to extract Catechins. The extracted plant product is filtered and further submitted to membrane separation process to separate Catechins. Aqueous permeate obtain from membrane cell is concentrated and decaffeinated to get purified and concentrated Catechins.[IN-KOL-2010-00240A]
