A patient transfer unit for an aircraft includes a trolley having an upper base, and a detachable lower base for holding a power bank and an oxygen bank, a stretcher mounted over the upper base of the trolley, and a special medical emergency equipment device (SMEED) mounted over the stretcher and detachably interlocked with the upper base, wherein the SMEED is configured to hold one or more life support medical equipment.
