Disclosed herein is a pharmaceutical composition comprising crystalline darunavir or its pharmaceutically acceptable solvates, hydrates, esters or salts thereof process for preparing such pharmaceutical composition and use of the said pharmaceutical composition for the prevention, treatment and prophylaxis of diseases caused by retroviruses, especially acquired immune deficiency syndrome or an HIV infection.
