<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter fitted with elongated elements around the baloon, in which the installation conditions of these elongated elements have been improved. <；P>；SOLUTION: The balloon catheter 10 has a catheter tube 11 as well as a balloon 13 at the distal end of a catheter tube 11. Linear members 31 are also provided around the external circumferential surface of a balloon 13. In detail, each of these linear members 31 strides longitudinally over the balloon 13 with only both its ends fixed to the balloon 13. Every linear member 31 is attached in the way that the distal end 33 of catheter tube 11 can preferentially come off in the event if an linear member 31 is given prescribed tensile force larger than one applied when swelling the balloon 13. <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
