PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional food for herbivorous animals which is formed from grass materials so as to be easily eaten by the herbivorous animals and of which pellet shape is difficult to break in preserving.SOLUTION: The functional food for herbivorous animals is formed into a pellet shape by containing moisture in the powdery grass materials of about 0.1-1 mm belonging to two or more gramineous plants which are chosen from Timothy grass, Italian ryegrass, Klein grass, Bermuda grass, Orchard grass, and Oat hay and hardening them.【課題】草食動物が食べやすいように牧草材を形作り、保存時にペレット形状を壊しにくい食動物用機能性食品を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】草食動物用機能性食品は、ティモシー、イタリアンライグラス、クレイングラス、バミューダグラス、オーチャードグラスおよびオーツヘイからなる２種以上のイネ科植物に属する０．１～１ｍｍ程度の粉末状の牧草材に水分を含ませて固めペレット状に形成したことを特徴とする。【選択図】なし
