Dry powder foundation formulations that include a sustained-release salicylicacid composition, an effective,buffering amount of one or more salicylate ions, and one or more of zinc andtitanium oxides, and pigments or colorants, aredisclosed. The formulations provide both acne treatment and prevention, andsunblock protection. The formulation can also includeother sunblocking or sunscreen agents to prevent photoaging and sunburn, suchas avobenzone, and 3-benzophenone, and othercosmetically-acceptable active agents and excipients.
